andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge

Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania

Set in the heart of a mahogany forest, andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in this National Park. The Lodge, which was designed to exert minimal impact on the environment, is situated in the remote south-western region of the Park. Cradled in the boughs of ancient mahogany trees, ten stilted tree-house suites are a sophisticated blend of intimacy and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity. Each tree-house suite features generous decks suspended above the forest floor and large windows to invite the lush forest inside. The bathrooms have free-standing baths with a forest view and an outdoor shower.

Overlooking a forest boma (outdoor dining area), guest areas are characterised by soaring spaces. An interactive kitchen allows guests to observe the preparation of delicious Pan African food that is enjoyed in the boma, on dining decks or on private viewing decks. Breakfasts and picnics are also served on the lakeshore.

Before entering Lake Manyara National Park, be sure to stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint. Here, you can enjoy a picture-perfect view of Lake Manyara and the surrounding escarpment.

Ask your guide to take you to the Maji Moto springs (Maji Moto means ‘hot water’ in Kiswahili). These hot water springs are a unique geological feature found nowhere else in Tanzania, and it is said that the water will boil an egg in 30 minutes!

Spend some quality time with a Maasai warrior who will teach you how to build a fire using two sticks, and challenge you to a jumping and spear throwing competition!

Indulge at andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge during your 1 night stay.   We have prepared a suite with en-suite bathroom, and your stay will include three meals daily, teas and coffees.

andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania

Perched on the edge of the Crater rim, andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge’s sumptuous safari suites present breath-taking views.  Inspired in design by the Maasai mud and stick manyatta (homestead), this is without doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa. Three separate and intimate camps are reminiscent of a bygone era totalling just 30 suites in all.

Steeped in romance, each stilted, handcrafted mud and thatch suite is adorned with graceful antiques and grand chandeliers. The bedroom, sitting room and en-suite bathroom boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows, overlooking the magnificent Crater below. En-suite bathrooms, with a center-piece of red roses, feature huge showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. Personal butlers discreetly tend to guests’ every need, bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces and drawing luxurious baths. Described as “Maasai meets Versailles”, each camp has its own guest sitting and dining areas and viewing decks. The domed dining room, with its grand fireplace, turns every meal into a special occasion.

Spend an afternoon learning how to create beautiful Maasai beadwork with Papai, one of the Lodge’s Maasai Mamas.

Witness the resident zebra drinking from the water tap outside of the Safari Shop – they have taught themselves to open the tap themselves!

You absolutely have to try the Lodge’s famous fudge (The chefs will share the recipe if you like!)

Day 5 & 6 (2nd and 3rd Mar 2018) – SERENGETI

You stay is on full board basis, and includes three meals daily, teas and coffees and selected drinks.

andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas

Serengeti, Tanzania

andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas reaches far beyond the bounds of the traditional Tanzanian safari – the sumptuously luxurious tented, seasonal camps move around the Serengeti year round, bringing guests within range of the Great Migration. When the Migration crosses over into Kenya, the camps remain in the remote, beautiful corners of the Serengeti, renowned for excellent resident game. The two intimate camps feature just eight ensuite safari tents each, carefully positioned in exclusive semi-permanent campsites in the Serengeti National Park. Booked on a nightly basis, each luxury ensuite mobile tent boasts a comfortable double bed, ensuite bathroom, separate w.c. and bucket shower – this is the ultimate in luxury camping. The guest areas comprise comfortable tents for dining, meeting for a pre-dinner drink, or just for whiling the time away between safaris – complete with private butler service, delicious home-baked meals, and traditional bush dinners served under the stars.

This luxury mobile camp moves up to 4 times a year in anticipation of the migratory herd.  This ensures that photo opportunities are always present.

Have a private dinner in your tent — the peace of the Serengeti can’t be beaten!

Ask your ranger to tell you a local story around the camp fire — he’ll have you spellbound.

Day 7 & 8 (4th and 5th Mar 2018) – SERENGETI

From andBeyond Serengeti Under Canvas you will make your way to andBeyond Grumeti’s Camp.

Enjoy your 2 night stay here with en-suite bathroom. Your stay includes three meals daily, with an assortment of house drinks.

andBeyond Grumeti Camp

Serengeti, Tanzania

Grumeti Tented Camp is set in the remote Western Serengeti and offers one of the best wildlife exerperiences in this incredibly picturesque area, which enjoys far fewer tourist numbers than many other areas in the Park.

The Camp is situated on a by-water of the Grumeti River, known for its dramatic wildebeest crossings and enormous Nile crocodiles.

Tucked into a strip of riverine forest, guests thrill to the antics of the hippo resident in the tranquil pool in front of the camp, and the spectacular pied colobus monkey, is also found here and nowhere else in the Serengeti.

This area contains one of the largest number of predators (especially lions) and would present countless, priceless moments for the avid photographer.
